WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION

Eastern Bay Chiropractic offers services to expectant parents, new babies, toddlers, children, adults and the elderly.  Your initial consultation is all about making sure you are in the right place. 

Health History: We will ask you to give us a run down of your current and previous state of health. Right from accidents and injuries you may have had in the past through to the amount of water you drink on a day-to-day basis. We need to ensure that we have a big picture idea about how your body is functioning… Or not functioning!

Nervous System and Orthopedic Assessment: How well is your body communicating with itself?  We want to discover where potential breakdowns are occurring that may be affecting your overall function.

Spinal Assessment:  We will take a look structurally at how you are operating and how that may be relating to your health. We are looking for any of those imbalances mentioned earlier and how they could be affecting your overall wellbeing.

Developmental Assessment: For the babies, we want to make sure they are on track with reaching their development by assessing their milestones.

X-ray: During your initial consultation your chiropractor will assess if x-ray is required. X-rays can tell us a lot about the structure of the spine as well as the amount of distribution of 'wear and tear'. They can also exclude other pathological processes, and of course show findings such as fractures. In the right circumstances x-rays are a valuable tool.

At Eastern Bay Chiropractic we have onsite digital x-ray facilities so we can take your x-ray on the spot allowing faster turnaround time for care. We are the only chiropractic practice in Whakatane with x-ray facilities. Any imaging will only be considered where clinically justified, in line with current legislation and guidelines. Infants, children and pregnant mums are not x-rayed unless clinically justified.
 

REPORT OF FINDINGS

After your Initial Consultation we will schedule your Report of Findings visit. This will include;

Report of Findings:  During this appointment your chiropractor will discuss your x-rays if applicable and what was noted during your initial exam.

Personalised Care Plan: Your chiropractor will then talk you through your Personalised Care Plan and explain how you can get the most out of your chiropractic care.

Adjustment: Once you have a full understanding of your spinal health your chiropractor will move onto adjusting you. Congratulations! You are now on your way to improved health and wellbeing.
